GOUNTY COUNCIL OBJECTS.

At Monday’s meeting of the Piako County Council Cr. Walters asked if it was thought desirable to make a stand in regard to the new valuations, should the country apply for a revision ? The chairman thought the unimproved value had been placed unduly high, but he did not know what the council could do unless it made a brotest through its assessor. Cr Walters moved that this council considers the valuation hsd made 1 the unimproved values unduly high through not giving sufficient for" improvements. Cr Orr seconded the resolution. The chairman agreed with the motion, and said he would see what could be done 1 . Cr Orr: I am afraid it's too late to do much. The chairmau, whilst thinking this might be the case, said the motion was a protest against the principal, aud that too little was put on the improved value. ;
