PERPLEXED
To tho Editor Sir, —I have noted with interest tho attitude of several townsmen in the matter of employing enemy aliens, as reported in the News. It Beems that the advocateo agaiusl employment of aliens are principally town residents. Farmers, particularly those with land in need of drainage, take . the contrary view. Now, Sir, does’nt !it seem to you very much like the attitude of the “ wowsers ” against racing and hotels ? Tho non-drinkers aud non-racing men are continually belly-aching about the evils attaching thereto. But they know no more of the matter than do the town dwellers about tho need for land drainage. It makes me laugh, and my countrymen are usually credited with being deficient in a sense of humor ! —I am, etc., Scotty.
