Considerable amusement was caused at the local railway station yesterday morning when a lady who is leaving the district was farewelled by her fellow guests at a local establishment. One young man was busily assisting her into the train when all the assembled friendg fairly deluged them with rice. - Fellow passengers were not slow to realise the joke, and as the train steamed out roars of merriment were heard. The “ bridegroom ” was not “ in the joke ” and in his embarrassment he was nearly carried on to the next station.
