At Wellington a few days ago, Mr Justice Chapman, giving judgment in an appeal case, over a charge of selling adulterated milk, said fresh milk must mean what an ordinary householder would consider that it meant. It had no direct connection with the question whether it was wholesome, but if milk would ordiuarily keep for a given time, say twenty hours after milking, it was evident that a person who thought ho was baying fresh milk is not, from his own point of view, getting what he thought he was buying if by reason of its age it would only keep half that time.
