At the receut meeting of the Newspaper Proprietors AssociatioD ; aresolutiou was carried that, in view of the extra cost of punting paper during the war, it was desirable to increase the cost of newspapers to the public. The proprietors of both Auckland dailies have decided NOT to make the suggested increase. The To Aroha News also, following the Auckland example, will NOT be increased in price at least, for the present. However, the w’ise subscriber is the one who pays a year in advance.
