TRANSPORT No. 32 The following letter was received to-day by the Editor of the News from Dr. Kenneth Gordon, dated October 31 :—We are pushing forward in moist tropical weather, a comfortable ship and a good crowd to be with. Not much sickness and nothing serious. In spite of the heat, boxing and wrestling tournaments have been held, concerts this week. In the heat of the day the decks are covered with dozing men well protected by awnings. All duties as regards sentries, guard, military police go on as in camp. Modified drill, signalling, lectures and inspections also. I have three medical officers, two nurses and thirty Red Cross (Medical Corps) men under me and acco nmodation on the boat deck for nearly 50 patients. It may interest you to know that I am Editor of the ship's paper,known as‘‘Dry Rations,” and I shall send a copy. Scott, Voysey and Billens are well. Best regards and Christmas and New Year wishes to all friends.
