Basket Social

AT WAIHOU A very successful and enjoyable evening was spent in the Waihou Public Hall on Wednesday evening, when a Basket Social was held for the very worthy object of paying off some portion of the debt on the Hall. A large and very representative gathering assembled, about forty couples taking part in the dancing, the music for which was played in the usual excellent style by Mrs Rutherford violinist, Misses Black and Magill pianis's and Mr L. Buchan on the cornet, Mr Rutherford making an energetic M.

During the evening Mr Andrews sang an Irish comic song which was appreciated by all. The contents of '* Baskets ’’ provided a very dainty supper, and the floor being in good condition dancing was indulged in to the usual early hour.

The Waihou Hall is fast becom ing noted for the excellence of its Bocials and credit is due to the committee andal' the willing helpers for the success.
