OKAUIA

A most successful So;ial was held in the Okauia School-room on Thursday last, to bid farewell to Mr Theodore Herbert, who is leaving for the front shortly in Lord Livepool’s Own Regiment. Mr C. B. Beeson, formerly school teacher of Okauia school, spoke on behalf of the residents of Okauia, wishing Mr Herbert every success in his soldier’s life. Musical items were rendered by Misses Williams and Brindle, and Messrs A. Turton, R. Thackeray, Fogherty, and a duet by Miss Brindle and Mr Beeson. The Social was drawn to a close in the small hours of the morning.
Mrs and Miss Tapper are at present on a visit to their Okauia farn: property, from the Palace Hotel Rotorua.
The creamery will be closing on Tuesday. All the farmers now have their separators installed.
