A NOISY ELEMENT.

To the Editor. Sir,—l think it high time that some restraint was placed upon the hooligan element in our town. Last night s contemptible tactics of spine few youths, who seemed incapable of appreciating good music, and -determined to prevent more cultured people from doing so. Where are our police ? I wonder if the constable 111 the hall made an attempt to stop the nuisance. Surely we have been too longsuffering in this matter, and the time is mote than ripe for taking some action to prevent entertainments from being spoiled by the crushing of peanuts with boots and the shuffling of feet on the floor. Why so many young men of Te Aroha prefer to he cads rather than, gentlemen is an interesting question. —Yours, etc.,
