Te Aroha AND Ohinemuri News Published Monday, Wednesday, and Friday Evenings. WEDNESDAY, OCT. 16, 1912 MANUAL TRAINING SCHOOL.

The Committee of the Te Aroha District High School, after being successful in their efforts to obtain grants from local bodies, have now decided to enter upon a canvass of the public in order that the full amount required shall be assured. The object is one thsjt should readily appeal to those wtfo«cknow!edge the value of technical instruction, and the establishment of a Manual Training School in Te Aroha wculd be such a decided step in advance, that we are confident that the well-wishers of the place will freely respond to the call now being instituted. The amount required to be subscribed by the public is only about £7O, and this would be followed by the erection of a building to cost £950, while the teaching at the school, on subjects ot real importance, would be of inestimable value to the scholars fortunate enough to be able to take advantage of the advanced education resultant from the institution under notice. If the requisite amount be subscribed within a week, as it may be, it will redound to the credit of the town and district, which in order to continue progressive should ever welcome and support projects such as a Manual Training School.
