WAIHOU JOTTINGS.

(From Our Own Correspondent) A meeting of the Waihou Athletic Club was held in the Waihou Hall on Friday last. The Secretary reported that nominations were coming in freely for the Easter Monday Sports, and that already they were a record for the Club. The ground committee for the Sports have been busy putting finishing touches on the ground and dressing shed. The bike races must prove- interesting as there are no less than twelve in each event. Mr F. Devey, of Te Aroha, has charge of the refreshment booth.

The pioneers are all in solid training for the half-mile walk, which should prove an interesting go. Mr D. Eorrie, who met with a serious accident a few months ago, is about again. He has consented once more to undertake the handicapping for the sports. The usual monthly sale at the Waihou Saleyards was held on Friday, when stock sold in favour of vendors at advanced prices. The recent rain has done much good to the district, and the fields are again looking green.
