The Rowing Championship.
A- v "vOA, April 4. Thb tricky character of Akaroa Harbour was again exemplified this morning. At nine o’clock it was flat and calm, but half-an-hour later a brisk nor’easter sprang up, making it quite possible that the afternoon will bring a repetition of Saturday’s weather. A v nst and Whelch were both out for a spin at ten o’clock. Arnst looks better than he did last week. Whelch is fit, but has had a spell since Thursday morning, which has probably done him no good. A. race will be rowed this afternoon if the boats can float; otherwise an early start will be made to morrow. Most of the visitors have left the town* Big crowds are gathering in the neighbouring bays.
