Voysey, £1 8s ; Neave and Farmer, £1 7s 6d ; Scott tiros (accepted) 19s 6dContract No. 2.—Drainage : E. Voysey, £1 10s per chain ; Neave and Farmer (accepted) 19s. j Contract No. 20. —Drain about 28 chains : Neave and Farmer, £1 3s 6d per chain ; E. Voysey, 18s ; Scott Bros (accepted) 16s per chain. Alleged Over-rating A letter was read from Mr A. t. cKenzie, of Kerrysdale. Waihou, complaining of the way in which he is rated, and hoping that the Board would have, the matter fixed up without further trouble. He , added that there were 40 chains of Maori land on his side for which he is charged. —Letter received. —Waiharakeke Drainage 1 At the last Board meeting tenders were received for drainage work along Waiharakeke drain. The tenders high, and none were accepted. i>The | Board, however, expressed its willingness to pay a subsidy of £4O towards cleaning out the creek. A letter was read from Mr A. Franklin, stating that he had arranged with the different parties concerned, and they were all willing to go on as the Board suggested. They purI posed starting the work on Monday. , —Snagging the Waitoa River — The Under-Secretary of Lands telegraphed to the effect that the work of snagging the Waitoa river is now in progress. —Waiorongomai-Waitoa Road Drains— I Un the suggestion of the Chairman, it was decided that the Clerk write to the Piako County Council, requesting that body to clean up the road drains along the Waitoa-Waiorongomai road, as the Board is bringing up the outfall from the Waihekau through Mr Laird’s property that will be of considerable benefit to the road mentioned.

—New Drain — It was resolved on the motion of the Chairman, seconded by Mr Makgill, that the Engineer prepare plans and specifications and call tenders for contract No. 3a, being drain between Contract No. 16 and 4a. | —Lockyer’s Drain — ! It was resolved to widen and deepen Lockyer’s drain from the Diagonal Road to O’Brien’s boundary, i —Johnstone’s Drain — Private tenders were handed in by Mr J. Orr for cleaning out Johnstone’s drain. —Acceptance held in abeyance, pending the inspection of the proposed work by the engineer. —Subsidy Owing— The Clerk was instructed to again write to the Piako County Council, requesting payment of subsidies promised. | —Alexander Road Bridge— Resolved to write to the Piako County Council, asking that the Alexander Road Bridge be taken in hand without furtherdelay. —Accoun* s The following accounts were passed for payment: W.
