Trial of an M.P.
A DEMAND REFUSED. London, March 2. Owing to the illnees of Mr SmaUman, the magistrate hearing the case of Sir Horatio Bottomley, M.P., now oiti his trial, charged with defrauding the public, another Alderman was substituted. The defendant then demanded the case be re-heard from the beginning, to this the Crown objected. An application for mandamus to compel the re-hearing of ihe evidence was refused by he High Court. v
