VISIT OF HON. MINISTER OF MINES.
Hon. Mr Richardson, Minister of Minos anil Lands, arrived 'at Tapu from Coromandel this afternoon, aeeompaned by Mr 11. A. Go*rd on, Warden Northerort, "Messrs Cadnuvn, M.H.R., and George •Wilson, Mining Inspector, Whilst there l.c was interviewed by a deputation of homestead settlers of Tajju, respecting the freehold of the land, and tho Minister promised every assistance in his power. About 2 p.m. Mr Ba^nnll, Ciir.irmnn of Thames County Council, ami Counlj Engineer (Mr Aitken) meet the Hon. Mr Richardson at Tapu,- and at 3.30 the whole party left for the Thnmes, arriving here late this evening. At 10 o'clock to-morrow morning the Minister will be waited upon hy deputations upon various matters connected with the Borough ami C<mn(y, after which he will visit some of our principal mines. It is not definitely decided when lie will proceed to Te Aroha.
