Trial of the de Laval Cream Separator.

At a recent trial of this separator in Taranaki, Mr Cummins, who wa& exhibiting the machine, stated that he was willing to take it to any neighbouring dairy and put the Monday's milk through ir, with a view of having it tested as against Tuesday morning's milk sot in pans in the ordinary way. The offer was accepted by Mr A. J. Hoskin, of Bell Block, and he has the result to the JFlaioera Star as follows :—: —

RESULT OF SEPARATOR TEST. On Monday last the milk of 23 cows was put through the separator, and in 43 minutes pream was produced. The cream was allowed to stand for twenty-four hours and put into the churn, and turned out lOlbs of butter and 311bs of butter milk, time occupied being 22 minutes.

KESULT OF PANNING MILK. On Tuesday morning tho milk of the same cows were put in pans in the usual way, and allowed to stand 36 hours. The cream was then taken off, and allowed to stand 24 hours, tho same timo as that from the separator. It was then churned, and in 50 minutes turned out Illb3 of butter, leaving 7lbs of butter-milk.
