Huild up the fire! Build upthe fire ! And let us draw our chairs m over. Although the winter reigns without, "We'll spend an hour within "in clover," Around a fire, a rousing fire, A fire with hue n gladsome rosy : And love siiall bo the mother-hand To *t «ek us in " and make us cosy. A lire, a fire, a cheery fire ; O where is he whc se mem'ry never Dwells fondly on the wint r night 3 Spent round some iireeide, sjiced ever? There's sonicthing in the glowing fire. When winter through theehink-isscreamin^ A something tha is more than warmth, With more thnn brightness in its beaming; There is some charm, some holy power, Whose inflxu'm c is telt for ever. So that, though ye n, may sever friends. The hearts, the hearts are sundered never. A tire, a fire, a cheery fire. etc. As love is to tie human bean, A fire to home is such another : Thehca*t weic (lurk without the one, The home a\ ere drear without the other. Then build the fire up- make h glow. And let us dr«i\s our ehahs in over; And wild as a\ inter roars v. irhout. We'll spi-nd an hour within "in clover." Hurrah ! a fire, a rousing fire, etc.
