THE TAURANGA-AROHA ROAD.

In a recent issue the Tanranga fivenin# news has a leading article, strong]/ advocating the improvement of the Tauranga— Te Aroha road. The News urges the Ttwranga Conncil to make the present bridle track ani table for vehicles, and says: — "The importance to* Tanranga of having the Te Aroha road thoroughly opened cannot be overestimated, and if it is of importance to tha Piako County it is ten times more so to us. Graziers and settlers would have an unequalled route for driving stock, aa there is good water and feed all through and on reaching Te Aroha they could, if desirable send their stock by rail to the Auckland markets, There are other industries, too, which wodM soon grow up" *nd rapidly increase oar prosperity. For instance, fish could be supplied to Te Aroha and the Waikato townships much more cheaply that from Auckland, and once we get the fishing industry fairly established in onr midst, it would nob be long before it assumed large proportions."
