SHOT AT THE ALTAR. A Bride Wounded by a Discarded and Jealous Lovor.
Tun "Now York Sun " of April 27 says :— Tho frionds of Mary Durquo and Julius Sazcy gathered at TVoodhaven, N.Y., last night to witness thoir marriage Whilo the miniator was performing tho ceremony the report of a pistol rang out. Tho womon screamed and the men drew back. Thon came a second and a third shot, closo togethor. At first no one could tell who was hit. Not until tho oxcitement subsidod was it discovered that the bride had been wounded. Sho was carried to hor room and a physician summonod. Ho found that ono of tho bullets had cut through the iloahy part of her leg, inflicting a slight wound. The shots had been firod through a window, and when tho crowd rushed outside they found Frank Lanie not far away from the door, and arrested him. Thore is much surpriso in Woodhaven over his conduct. It is supposed it was caused by jealousy, lie is said to havo boon an admirer of Miss Durque. When tho wedding invitations wore sent out ho was neglected, and somo say this had something to do with the . shooting.
