New Find. — A most satisfactory improvement mis taken place in the reef lieing driven on north from the low level. On yesterday week n really tine show of gold was plainly visible in the quartz being broken out, evidently proving that, the Arizona en No. 1 ran of gold, had at la9t been reached, as had been expected by the manager. The reef now is a fine compact body of stone about Bft. Gin. in width, anil with gold well distributed through the stone. This drive will now be pushed on as speedily as possible to connect with the winze, which is now almost down to the depth of this level. When this connection is made it will afford 100 ft. of backs forstoping. This run has now been proved payable for about 140 ft. in length This run of gold has now been traced down the surface for 240 ft, and from all appearance favours the supposition! that payable gold will be founi in still, lower levels. A trial crushing i will next week be seat lo the battery for treatment from the reef now bo\n% driven upon. The No. 1 reef in' stopes above the Arizona level still] continues to look well, gold being con-j stantly seen during breaking, .down A trial lot of 37 trucks crushed from her« has yielded from plates and , blanketings 55<>zs of retorted gold ; tailings from same 18oks.
