Pressure on our space, however, prevented our giving • ieliiils as Fully as we should have liked, and we shall now brielly revert to the same, subject. Morrinsviile is the centre oF a large and important agricultural istrict, and now that it has been opened up by mil is likely to make rapid strides, more especially seeing tiiat Morrinsviile is to be the junction oF the Tnames Valley an-i Rotorua Railway. Government realising this, wisely decided on electing r.tation buildings of a first-class description and on a scale likely ;o meet the requirements of large traffic ov<er the line. A few particulars respeetii q the station itself may not be without interest to onr readers.. First oF all, however, we may remark that whilst the line to Morrinsviile runs almost straight in on the east side of the station, the line for Rotorua branches off from the main line just after crossing the bridge on entering the township, and runs in on the west side of the station, the one station building being used for both, and the entrances, windows, etc., opening out on both platforms being alike. Tue station h situated opposite Buck's Phoenix Hotel, and the main entrance branches off from the publi • road at the corner of said hotel. The platform is 300 ft longby 36ft, and is well gravelled. The station is 93ffc x 13ft with curved verandah the entire length, ll^ft wiJ^T)» both sides. The building is divide* as follows : First at the northern end is a lamp room J 2ft x Bft, followed by parcels room 12ft. x 10ft. The post and telegraph office comes next 12ft x 14ft { adjoining which is the tick* t office 12ft x 12ft. The general waitingroom, ladies do, ticket, and telegraph offices are each supplied with fire-place and register grate. The timber usod iv construction of the station is all heart of kauri, whilst the Foundations are of totara. The rooms are all lined with tonirued and grooved heart of kauri, also varnished. The roofing is corrngalei iron. The design of the building is exceedingly neat, ami Messrs Price and Ma col m, the contractors,, have- completed their contract in a manner that reflects the highest credit on tin* firm. They were also the contractors For the otner buildings in conn «ction with the station, viz., 6 room station master's liou^e »md 2 4-rooni cottage (a- (hint bi'ing now added Fur the eni*"ine->lrivtr) f civul shed, capable oi hoi ling 50 tons ; »oods he. l, GOfl x 30ft ; 2 stall engine s iod 71ft x 21ft, cattle and sheep pens, I etc., etc. At Eurek.-i, station buildings, together with station master's house, 2 cottages, goods shod, cattle an I sheep pens, etc. Messrs Price and Malcolm were the contractors for erecting the Auckland Auxiliary Asylum. It is sincerely to be hoped that the completion of the line to Te Aroha will now ba at once proceeded with. The benefits to be derived therefrom would be very great. Every legitimate moans must be availed of to have the railway completed right into our gold field with nil reasonable .peed: With railway communication, not only will our mines attract a far larger amonnt of public attention, but we may reasonably expect to seethe large extent of excellent agricultural land with which we are surrounded more rapidly settled upon by farmers of the right class. The best thanks of his constituents are due to Mr J, B. VVhyte for tle energy he has displayed in fc'nis mutter.
