ONEHUNGA RACING CLUB. Autumn Meeting. Onehunga, March 29.

The Autumn Meeting, under the auspices - of the Onehunga Racing Club, passed off successfully on Saturday at the pretty little racecourse at Te Papapa. The weather was beautifully tine, and there must have been fully 1,000 people on the ground. One noticeable feature in connection with the meeting is that it was conducted on strictly temperance principles, nothing stronger than hop beer being obtainable. Mr Codlin acted as judge, Mr Blackburne as clerk of the scales, Mr Denize as clerk of the course, and last but by no means least, Mr 0. McGee wielded the starter's flag. The latter was particularly successful ; indeed, we have never seen more satisfactory starting on any racecourse in or about Auckland. The totalisator, worked under Mr Adams's management, was fairly patronised, £1,429 going'through the machine. 1st.
