BIG ARMAMENTS VOTE. ■INCREASING THE NATIONAL STRENGTH. By Cable. — Press Association.—■CopyrigM. Reuter's Telegrams. (R«c. Dec. 28,,9.25) TOKIO, Dec. 26/ The Minister of Finance announces that the Budget estimates anticipate a total ordinary income of 1,250,000,000 yen, and 325,000,000 yen extraordinary income. The expenditure is estimated at 1,562,000,000 yen. The army estimates total 263,000,000 yen, an increase of 50,000,000 yen, and the Navy expenditure 498,000,000 yen, an increase of 52,000,000 yen. The other items correspond closely with those in the last Budget The Minister of Finance, in presenting the figures to a caucus of Sie peers, said every effort would be made to ensure frugality, while the greatest amounts possible within the financial scope of the State were allowed to such enterprises as seemed most essential for the development of national power. The Prime Minister (Mr T. Hara) addressing a caucus of the Lower House, said that in compiling the Budget the Government's guiding policy was to increase the national strength.
