(Rec. Dec. 28, 9.25) LONDON, Dec. 27. • The Duke of Portland, in an interview, said the best way for Great Britain and France to show mutual affection was in a practical sphere. This was what he had tried to do in forwarding to the war-scarred districts of France a small pa.rt of what they had lost. The British Agricultural Committee had already raised £75,000 with which cattle were being purchased for the farmers on the old battle front. The British fund for the restoration of Bheims Cathedral would soon reach £IOO,OOO.
