ASHBURTON TROTTING CLUB. Despite the unfavourable -weather -there was a very large attendance at the Summer Meeting of the Ashburton Trotting Club yesterday. For the first two races the track was in very fair order, hut subsequently it cut up badly. The racing -was of more than average interest, and the fields of good strength. The course was in excellent order, and the racing good. The Auckland Cup provided a line contest, and a great finish between the placed horses.
