""W a young motor engineer went thfougfr a fortune of £8598 in •18 months, was told at the Scarborough Bankruptcy Court when Claude Algernon Adamson, of Bridlington, appeared for his public examination. Debtor stated that he came of age ! n July, 1918, and thereupon borrowed ! !600 worn a moneylender in anticipaion of a fortune which he inherited ' mder his father's will amounting to 18698. This he received in November, °l3, and he paid the moneylender £9OO. It Was true that he managed to get Ha Of the whole of his fortune in 18 Months. He got through the money in Expensive living and general extravagance. He estimated that he spent £1463 Ui entertaining friends to dinners, theafres, etc., £3OO for dresses and millinery, gad £IOO for hotel meals whilst touring. He bought nine motor-ears and sold them ill at & big loss. He now got £1 unemployment pay. 0 The examination was closed.
