EXPENSIVE REVENGE.
An ex-soldier named Arthur Wallace, who was refused a drink of water by a woman .at a cottage near a farm at Montford Bridge, Salop, afterwards set fire to a haystack on the farm. The stacks which was burned to the ground, wa"s 20 tons in weight, and was worth £l6O. , When he was committed for trial, Wallace said, "I am very sorry the old woman was - not on top to burn with it." After his arrest Wallace said he was refused a drink of water, so he thought he would have his revonge. | The woman says she had no water, and would have had to carry it a mile.
