THE Y.M.C.A.
A PAPAL ATTACK. CORRUPTS FAITH OF YOUTHS^ By Cablc.-rPrcss Association.—Copyright, (Reuter.) ROME, Dec. .23. The Young Men's Christian Association has been attacked in a decree by the Holy Office, asking the' bishops to watch organisations which, while professing absolute freedom of thought in religious matters, instil indifference and apostasy to the Catholic religion in the minds of adherents. The decree mentions the Y,M.C.A., which, it states, is upheld by many Catholics, who are ignorant of its real nature, and declares that it corrupts the faith of youths. It recalls the Canon Law, which forbids papers, periodicals, and organisations favouring religious rationalism, aad requests the bishops to communicate to the Holy See within two months the decisions taken at regional congresses on the subject. : - : '
