SPORTS PROTECTION.
The 13th annua] report of the Canterbury Athletic Clubs' Protection AsBOdation, to be presented at a general meeting of the association to-night, congratulates, affiliated clubs on the general success attending their efforts for the revival of all athletics, after the more or less dormant state in which they .were compelled to remain during' the period of the War. The membership of the association totals 39 clubs. The Ascot Tennis Club and the Lyttelton Sports Club have been affiliated during the year. As most of the clubs are practically starting on a fresh footing, there has, consequently, been no great need for action to be taken in connection with defaulting members. The financial statement, whilst showing the association to be still fairly well situated, nevertheless shows a fradual dwindling of funds for the past ew years, the revenue of late not being equal to the expenditure, and the committee states that, with clubs becoming in a much more active state, and, consequently, the likelihood of the association being called upon to carry out a food deal more work, it must recomLend that the annual subscription, as provided for in the rules, be again reverted to. The receipts, including a balance of £26 8/1 brought forward, amounted to £39 8/4, and the expenditure to £ls 15/-, leaving a credit balance of £24 2/6, with no liabilities.
