SCHOOL OF FORESTRY.
SUPPORT FOR CANTERBURY.
The Canterbury Progress League has been informed that, at a meeting of the Greymonth-Hokitika Saw-millers' Association, on Monday last, the following resolution was passed:—"That in view of the fact that vast areas of land on the West Coast are suitable only for afforestation purposes, and that the native bush on the West Coast will also last, for many years, the Government be urged to establish the proposed Chair of Forestry at Canterbury University College." The, Canterbury Progress League is convening for next Wednesday evening a conference of representatives of bodies interested in this matter.
