RANGIORA HIGH SCHOOL.

The monthly meeting or the Rangiora High School Board of Governors was hold last evening, there being present: Messrs W. A. Banks (chairman), H. Boyd, R. Ball, C. W. Bell, R. Collie, Jas. Marshall, C. 1. Jennings, and the Rev. F. P. Fendall. A letter was received from the Anglican Sunday School Teachers' Association asking for the use of the school and hostels for a summer class In January. Permission was granted. On the motion of the chairman, It was unanimously decided to offer the board's congratulations to the late principal (Mr T. R. Cresswcll), who had been appointed principal of the Wellington College. A donation of two guineas was made to the special prize fund of the Northern Agricultural and Pastoral Association. The caretaker's salary was Increased to £52 12/- per annum as from August 1. An increase of £5 per annum was also made in tha music master's salary. The principal's report gave the roll as 151, 75 hoys and 70 girls. The second term of the year ends on August 22, and the vacation extends for a fortnight. The Rangiora County Council was accorded a vote of thanks for its donation, of £7 10/- towards the school funds.

At a meting of the Management Committee of the Kaiapoi Technical Classes, held last evening, the secretary reported receipt of the following donations:—Kaiapoi Woollen Co., Ltd., £10; Kaiapoi Borough Council, £10; Kaiapoi Working Men's Club, £4 4/-; Woodend, |£l ]/-; Kaiapoi School Committee, £l.
