MR F. M. CLEMENTS. By Cable. — Press Association. — Copyright. (Rpc. Aug. 18, 10.35) SYDNEY, Aug. 18. The death is announced of Mr Frederick Moore Clements, of "Clements' Tonic" fame. MR F. T. ADAMS. One of the oldest journalists in New Zealand, Mr Frederick TJiomas Adams, of New Brighton, died yesterday at the age of 90 years. The late Mr Adams was a native of Congleton, Cheshire, England, and was the eldest son of Dr T. Adams, of that town. He was educated at trie Newport Grammar School, and for some years studied law in London. He came to New Zealand late in 18G3, and in the following year became sub-editor of the "Lyttelton Times," then the property of Messrs W. Reeves and Crosbie Ward. After 12 years of valuable service, his health broke down, and he was compelled to resign his post, but for many years afterwards he remained a contributor to the "Canterbury Times" on horticultural and other subjects. In later life Mr Adams was for some years a member of the office staff of Adams, Ltd. Finally, he made his home at New r Brighton, where he lived in retirement during the last years of his long and useful life. His wife, formerly Miss Annie Broome Nelson, of Falkirk, Scotland, died in 1904, but six sons and two daughters survive him.
