ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

FOOT BADLY CRUSHED. Prut Association. AUCKLAND, August 16. While attempting to board a moving tram-car this morning in Dominion Road, a young man named Ernest Goodhew had his foot badly crushed. The car wan just slowing, but, in his hurry, Goodhew missed his hold and tho wheels passed over his left foot. He was sent to tho hospital, where the foot, which was practically cut off through the accident, was amputated. The patient is now doing satisfactorily.
