ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
CONTACT WITH ELECTRICAL WIRES. A narrow escape from death occurred at the Drainage Board's pumping station, Tuam Street, on Thursday, when Mr Ai S. Forrester, engineer at the station, accidentally came into contact with.some electrical wires of high voltage, high enough, it is estimated, to have caused instant death. Mr Forrester was on top of the electrical transformers at the time, and received a very eevere shock, as a result of which he fell into a window, two or three feet below, and was severely cut about the head. He was removed to the Christchurch Hospital, where his injuries were attended to. His condition is reported to-day as being satisfactory.
