RUGBY FOOTBALL.
MATCHES ABANDONED. The Linwood and Merivale clubs were to have met at Lancaster Park to-day to decide which team should be the runner up/for the Canterbury Rugby Union's first-grade premiership. However, the Linwood club was unable to raise a full team, ami so the match was abandoned. Several second-grade matches which had been arranged were also abandoned, on account of the condition of the grounds.
