Nine corpses have been recovered at Florence from the debris of the powder magazine, which still resembles a volcano. Eight persons are dying, and 120 others are injured. Continued explosions prevent a search for bodies. fA London message of August 10 stated! The Milan correspondent of tlie "Daily Chronicle" reports that an incendiary campaign on an unprecedented scale Is proceeding in all parts of Italy. A large military powder magazine at San Gervaseo was blown up, shaking the whole of the city of Florence. Some bodies were hurled n mile. The death roll is not yet ascertainable, but over 100 injured persons have been sent to hospital. Many were wounded by falling bombs. Many persons who were on lire in the streets saved themselves by immersion in public fountains. An attempt to blow up a magazine at Mugmmo, in Tuscany, by setting fire to the adjacent woods, failed.* Armed bands assailed the magazines at Piacenzn and Catania. The military employed machine-guns in an all-night engagement, driving oil' the attackers at daylight. Anarchists exploded bombs in several Milan restaurants. Four flres which occurred in Genoa, Parma. Trieste, and San Antonia, caused damage amounting to £250,000, Including large quantities of Government stores.
