Nine corpses have been recovered at Florence from the debris of the powder magazine, which still resembles a volcano. Eight persons are dying, and 120 others are injured. Continued explosions prevent a search for bodies. [A London message of August 10 Mated! The Milnn correspondent of tlie "Daily Chronicle" reports that an incendiary campaign on an unprecedented scale is proceeding in all parts of Italy. A large military powder magazine at San Gcrvaseo was blown up, shaking the whole of the city of Florence. Some bodies were hurled a mile. The death roll Is not yet ascertainable, but over 100 injured persons have been sent to hospital. Many were wounded by falling bombs. Many persoiis who were on Are in the streets saved themselves by immersion in public fountains. An attempt to blow up a magazine at Mugnano, In Tuscany, by setting lire to the adjacent woods, failed. Armed bands assailed the magazines at Piacenza and Catania. The military emi ployed machine-guns in an all-night engagement, driving off the attackers at daylight. Anarchists exploded bombs in several Milan restaurants. Four fires which occurred in Genoa, Parma, Trieste, and Sun Antonla, caused damage amounting -to £250,000, including large quantities of Government stores.
