FIRE At A HOSPITAL.
ENGINE-BOOM DESTROYED. Prttt Association. BLENHEIM, August 1?. At nn early hour this morning an alarm of lire was given by the watchman at the Wairau Hospital, who had discovered an outbreak in the roof of the laundry and engine-room, a large and up-to-date new. building. There was no fue lighting apparatus available, but the staff saved what was moveable. The building was completely gutted. The machinery, which includes an electric plant, was badly damaged. • The insurances were £4500 in the Royal Exchange Office. The buildings, and plant; were valued at £9OOO. ' '' .'
