ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
FOUND DROWNED. The Rangiora police have received a telegram from the Cnlverden police station stating that the body of a man named John Cook, 65 years of age, had been recovered in St. Leonard's Creek. Cook, who was a single man and a labourer, is believed to have met his death accidentally. GOLD MINER KILLED. Press Association. WAIHI, August 30. At the. Bising Sim gold-mine, at Owharoa, Thomas Liddle was killed instantaneously by flying rocks from tho bursting of a charge of gelignite in a drive in the mine. YOUNG MAN~DROWNED. INVERCABGILL, August 9. A young man named Cox was drowned at Port Craig this afternoon while loading stores on to a launch.
