TERROR IN IRELAND.
ANOTHER SINN FEIN CRIME. LABOUR DEMANDS REPUBLIC. By Cable. —Press Association. — Copyright. Australian and X.Z. Cable Association. (Ri'f. Aug. 3, 1.5) LONDON, Aug. 2. A voting labourer was found dead on a roadside at Drumcollogher with a bullet in his forehead. He was blindfolded and his hands tied behind him, and a cardboard bearing the word "Spy" was hung round his neck. The Lord Mayor of Cork welcomed the Irish Trade Union Congress. Mr Thomas Farren, who presided, said those working for the Irish Republic were united in the belief that there must be either complete independence or extermination. They were now being ruled by brutal, naked force. The workers should not hesitate to adopt direct action. He advocated the abolition of the wage system, and the substitution of co-operation. He charged the Government with 75 murders, 2412 deportations, 2600 raids on private houses, 7504 arrests, 413 proclamations, and 53 newspaper suppressions. Mr Farren said Ireland was determined to be mistress of her own destiny.
