RESOLUTION OF FARMERS' UNION. Press A ssocialion* GISBORNE, August 2. At a large meeting of fanners and others, held under the auspices of the Fanners' Union, the following resolution was passed:—"That this public meetitig of farmers, called under the auspices of the Poverty Bay Farmers' Union, desires to record approval of the resolution adopted at the recent Dominion Conference of the New .Zealand Farmers' Union, protesting against the Government aUowiug Messrs Armour and Co. and Vestey Bros, to operate in connection with the freezing industry of this Dominion, and this meeting respectfully requests the Government to take immediate steps to prevent tiiese firms from further operating.''
