The arrest of a Japanese seaman from the Tenslio Main threatened to be the cause of serious trouble at Lyttelton yesterday. A Japanese, very drunk, had jiiHt been arrested in Oxford Street, when a Japanese comrade eudeavoured to effect a rescue. A crowd, which contained many Japanese, quickly congregated, and it showed a disposition to take sides. However, tlio police managed to promptly bundle the drunken seaman and his would-be reseuer off. This morning t'anigo Korea was charged at the Magistrate's Court at Lyttelton, before Messrs \V. T. Lester and P. G. Norton, J .TVs, with disorderly behaviour while drunk. Kensaki lliraoka Tvas also charged with (distracting Constable Smith. Korea was fined 20/-, and Hiraoka 40/-. ; A new booklet, "An Interesting Story of Yitafer," is an attractive little publication, telling all aboiit VITAFER, the standard British Tonic Food, aptly described as "suitable nourishment for brain and body." A post-card addressed to the New Zealand wholesale agent, J. A. Coltart, Fitzgerald Avenue, Christchurcfe, will bring a free cojy. .H
