KSHSSSES2SESHSESESHSaSES2SI£HSi SHSaSZSHSSSHSHSHSSSHSESHSHSE 1 A Splendid Record The Canterbury Automobile Association has a very fine record to its credit in its voluntary work in transporting returned soldiers from the Christchurch Railway Station to their 'homes, on their return from active serivce; in carrying soldiers to and from hospitals, and in providing motor outings for returned men. The following figures are quite apart from the statistics, given elsewhere on this page, of the C.A.A., soldiers' car:— Cars provided for transport of Soldiers 9,228 Number of Soldiers transported : : 16,527 The number of cars stated is arrived at by adding the numbers provided on different occasions. Many cars, however, have made as many as four or five trips each on quite a lot of those occasions, and therefore the aggregate of car trips, if ascertainable, would be much greater than that quoted. The association's War work also includes a great deal of labour in the raising of funds. It has unselfishly given so much'assistance to other bodies in this work that the amount which it has helped to raise is not ascertainable readily.
