PROHIBITION.

OPERATION IN AMERICA. By Cable. — Press Association. — Copyright. (The Times) LONDON, Nov. 4. The New York correspondent of "The Times" startingly declares that, according to police and other reports, Prohibition has been followed by a wave of increased drug-taking. The vice has trebled in such States as Colorado, Utah, and Montana. Extreme Socialistic and Bolshevistic movements, particularly 1.W.W., are gaining ground, and a large percentage of law-abiding trades unionists are joining, believing that Prohibition is the outcome of anti-Labour movements. A new entry has to be added to the police lists, "death due to drinking wood alcohol."
