NORTHERN A. & P. SHOW.

A JUBILEE FUNCTION. The 50th Show of the Northern A. and P. Association was held at Rangiora to-day. The weather was dull, but fine, and there was a good attendance. The association held its first show in 186(3, but from 1869 to 1874 no shows were held, so that to-day's show was the jubilee one, reckoning the number of shows. With regard to the number of entries, there was an increase of 20 on the grand total of 844 last year. In the horse section 30 more draughts were entered, whilst the total increase for the section was 140. There was also a big*inerease in the cattle entries, especially in the Shorthorn class. Sheep showed a decrease from 123 last year to 95 this. The competition in sheep was poor and several breeds were not represented at all. The pig section, which ever since 1913 has been poorly supported, showed an increase from five to nine entries.

The school children did not support the technical section nearly as well as last year, when there were 187 entries. This year there were only 34. . Results are as follow: PIGS. (Judge: Mr H. Stuart.)
