MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
TO-DAY'S CASES. Mr V. G. Day, S.M., presided -at a sitting of the Magistrate's Court to-day. A Remand Granted.—Charged with drunkenness yesterday and with wilfully damaging a typewriter, valued at £25, and an electric radiator, the property of the Crystal Palace, Ltd., Thomas McCarthy was remanded until November 11. Bail was allowed in one bond of £SO. Civil Cases.—Judgment for the plaintiffs by default, with costs, was given in the following undefended cases:—John Watkins v. Robert Watkins, £l7 9/-; W. Wilson v. John Stuart Edwards, £l3 7/10; F. I>. Kestcven v. J. Prcece, £ll 10/-; F. E. Owers and Co. v. Robert Crump, £3 1/7; The City of Christchurch Sinking Fund Commissioners v. Ernest Ackerinan Smith, 19/-; P. S. Nicholls and Co. v. Morris, £7 C/-; Trade Auxiliary Co. of N.Z., Ltd., v. W. H. Lambert and Co., £2O 5/3; same v. Thos. Wilkinson, £lO 1/-; Munro and Hickinnottom v. Robert Jobson, £3 10/-; G. F. Scott v. Mrs E. H. Minchin, £4 3/-. Judgment Summons Cases.—Joseph William Wiltshire was ordered to pay E. Longdin £0 5/6 forthwith, in default seven days' imprisonment. A similar penalty was imposed against E. H. Ricketts for failing to pay Albert E. Marriott £4 4/6. No order was made in the case brought by A. Schumacher against I". W. Turton, on a judgment for £3 17/11. A Case Adjourned.—A. E. Purse (Mr C. S. Thomas) applied for a judgment order on a judgment amounting to £l4 5/6 against Arthur Bull. After some argument the case was adjourned until November 22, expenses for half a day being allowed the defendant.
