HURUNUI RABBIT BOARD.
A meeting of the Hurtmui Rabbit Trustees was held on Saturday last, at CulVerdcn, when there were present:—Messrs T. C. Robinson, \V. \V. Mcßae, E. R. Turton, and Inspector W. M. Munro. Inspector Turner and Mr R. L. Hicks (secretary) were also in attendance. Mr W. W. Mcßae was voted to the chair. Inspector Munro s report showed that the Hanmer, Balmoral, Hurunul and Cheviot districts had been inspected. Good work has been done In most of the properties visited. Proceedings have been taken against one owner in the Hurunul district and one owner in the Cheviot district. Inspector Munro reported that his assistant inspected the \Vaitohl and Hurunul river-beds from the Peaks Road to the Hurunui trafllc bridge, and the properties between the above rivers. A fair number of rabbits were seen in the gorse in the Waitohi river-bed, and the necessary work is being put in hand 'to destroy these rabbits. The settlers on both sides of the river have been poisoning with Hood results, and other work is being carried on by them. On the Hurunui side the condition Is satisfactory, with the exception of one owner, who has been asked to do more work than appears necessary. Notices under the Act were sent to two owners, whose properties will be inspected again during the next fortnight.
