NEW BRIGHTON LADIES' CLUB. The New Brighton Ladies' Miniature Rifle Club closed its season with a social and £X e „ 1 V hC , Picr I J aI V ne energetic comWa U ?f. , ,„ Jf « dame , s , A - L- Cropp, Burmeistcr, Harding, Greenfield, Edmonds and Ainger spared no pains to make the function a success. The hall was tastefully decorated. Dancing was kept up to an early hour in the morning, 'and, during the intervals, musical items were given by a concert party consisting of Misses Richardson (2), Edmonds (2) and Dcnby, Mrs A. L. Cropp and Messrs J. Peck and A. Dey. Amongst those present were Mesdames John Hall, £rank Thompson, Lawrence, Cooke, Pratt Calvert, White, Call, Chammen, Barnctt, 5l rgh ' TJMysIKWt, McClelland and Clancy Misses Gillman, Clark, Sherwood, Gibbs (2) Denby, KJmber, Woolridge, Giles, Ward Fincham, Winny, Tillyshort (2), Gordon and i V ?. at t.¥ essrs Cooke, Pratt, Ainger, White, Call, Bishop, Fincham, Ellis, Dennis, Campbell, Calvert, Hill, Lamont, Patterson, Burmeister, Stewart, Osment'and Williams. The Mayor, Mr F. Kibblewhite, presented the prizes, and congratulated the winners. The following is the prize-list:— Championship—Mrs Harding 1, Mrs Salter 2, Mrs Burmeister 3. First competition—Mrs A. L. Cropp 1, Mrs Edmonds 2. Second competition—Mrs Ainger 1, Mrs Edmonds 2. Third competition—Mrs Burmeister 1, Miss Nielson 2. Fourth • compelition—Mrs Greenfield 1, Mrs Cooke 2, Mrs Lewis 3. Grand aggregate—Miss Stewart 1, Mrs Burmeister 2. A presentation was also made to Messrs Burmeister, Ward and Hayes for their untiring services to the club.
