FOR LABOUR.
CHRISTCHURCH SOUTH. Ladies and Gentlemen— By postal ballot I was chosen to contest Christchurch South in the interest of Labour. I intend open-: ing the campaign at the King's Theatre on Thursday evening. At that meeting I want to speak to you about indentured labour for Samoa, with special reference to Fiji. Then, I shall try to prove that loans free of income tax have increased the cost of living. Further, I shall try to show that our educational system is
fair neither to the teachers nor to the children. I want to deal, at this meeting, with the things that make a country great. At subsequent meetings I shall deal with roads, bridges and other domestic requirements of the Dominion. So that you will hot be wearied bv one speaker, the Hon. J. T. Paul, M.L.C., and Mr James McCombs, M.P., have been invited to assist, and the Woolston choir and the Socialist orchestra will render a series of musical items between 7 and 8 o'clock. We invite you to this meeting regardless of your political leanings. We want you to hear our side, and, having heard, we shall leave it to your judgment. Yours sincerely, .14 E. J. HOWARD.
