H.M.S. Hood, the first battleship completed since the Battle of Jutland, is 800 ft long, with a displacement of 41,200 tons. She mounts eight 15in guns and has an armoured belt 12in thick at the waterline. She is protected by a bulge against un-der-water attack. She is driven by Brown and Curtis turbines of 144,000 h.p., capable of developing a speed of 31 knots per hour.
